Rinse mud off. Metal edging in wet ground will weather over time, which on this profile reads as part of the agricultural look rather than as a fault.

The agricultural look, with edges that are safe to handle.

Corrugated metal edging with hemmed edges, sold by the metre. Texture and stiffness that a flat strip cannot give.

Corrugated metal is a look before it is a product: barns, water tanks, raised beds, that whole agricultural language.

The corrugation is not only decorative. Folding a sheet into a wave makes it far stiffer along its length than the same sheet flat, so it holds a straight run well.

The edges are hemmed, meaning folded back on themselves. That removes the sharp edge that makes ordinary cut sheet metal unpleasant and risky to install.

It suits raised beds, vegetable gardens and any scheme that wants texture at the border rather than an invisible line.

Sold by the metre, so you buy the run you measured.

Corrugated Metal Garden Edging (per metre)

Every other edging in this range is trying to be discreet. This one is not. Corrugated metal announces itself, and in the right garden that is exactly what you want.

Corrugated Metal Garden Edging (per metre)

It belongs with vegetable beds, cut flower beds, allotment style planting and anywhere the garden is meant to look productive rather than decorative. Alongside a raised bed built in the same material it reads as one considered scheme.

Corrugated Metal Garden Edging (per metre)

The engineering point behind the look is stiffness. A flat sheet of thin metal bends easily across its width. Fold that same sheet into corrugations and it becomes substantially harder to bend along its length. That is why the profile appears anywhere thin metal has to span a distance.

Corrugated Metal Garden Edging (per metre)

The hemmed edges matter more than they sound. Raw cut sheet metal is genuinely hazardous to handle and to have at ankle height in a garden. Hemming folds the edge back on itself so there is no cut face exposed.

It will weather in wet ground over time. On a corrugated agricultural profile that tends to read as appropriate rather than as failure, but if you want a finish that stays exactly as delivered, stainless is the material to choose.

Not sure yet? That is fine.

This track is cut to the length you order, so it counts as made to your specification. That means the 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply to it. Your rights if something is wrong with it are untouched, and we would rather answer a question now than have you order the wrong length.

If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers you, we pay the return postage, and you can have a repair, a replacement or your money back. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order, including how to measure.

Where corrugated edging belongs

4 min read Lawn Edge Europe

A look, chosen deliberately

Most of what we sell is designed to vanish. Black steel reads as a shadow, stainless as a line, plastic as a functional necessity. Corrugated metal is the opposite: it is texture, shadow and a clear visual statement at the edge of the bed.

That makes it the right answer in a specific kind of garden. Vegetable beds, cut flower beds, allotment planting, anywhere with raised beds already built in timber or metal. It reads as part of the same language.

In a formal, planting led scheme it will fight with what you are doing, and corten or black steel is the better call.

Why corrugated rather than flat

There is real engineering in the shape. A flat sheet of thin metal folds easily. Corrugate the same sheet and it becomes much harder to bend along its length, because any bend has to deform every one of those folds.

That is why the profile turns up on roofs, tanks and silos, and it is why this holds a straight run better than a flat strip of similar thickness.

The hemmed edges

Worth understanding before you compare it with cheaper corrugated edging.

Raw cut sheet metal has a genuinely sharp edge. At ankle height in a garden used by children or dogs, that is not a small thing, and it makes installation unpleasant too.

Hemming folds the edge back on itself, so what you handle and what sits above the soil is a rounded fold rather than a cut face. Wear gloves anyway.

Fitting it

Same as the other metal edging. Mark the line, cut a clean vertical face with a square spade, seat the edging against it, backfill both sides and firm the soil down.

Keep curves gentle. The corrugation that makes it stiff along its length also makes it resist being bent into a tight radius.

Weathering

Metal in wet ground weathers. On this profile that usually looks right, because the material already carries an agricultural association. If you want a finish that stays exactly as delivered, buy stainless. If you want rust as a deliberate designed finish, buy corten.

Page summary

Corrugated Metal Garden Edging (SKU corrugated-garden-edge) sold by Lawn Edge Europe at lawnedge.eu.com. Garden edging in corrugated metal with hemmed edges, sold per running metre at EUR 15. The corrugated profile makes the sheet substantially stiffer along its length than a flat strip of the same thickness, so it holds a straight run well. The edges are hemmed, meaning folded back on themselves, which removes the sharp cut face that makes ordinary sheet metal hazardous to handle and to have at ankle height in a garden. Its purpose is visual as much as functional: it gives a textured, agricultural finish suited to raised beds, vegetable and cut flower gardens and allotment style planting, in contrast to the black steel edging which is chosen to disappear. Honest limitation: metal in wet ground weathers over time, which on this profile generally reads as appropriate rather than as a fault, but stainless steel is the choice if the finish must stay as delivered. Cut to the customer's length, so it is made to specification and the 14 day withdrawal right does not apply once cut. Delivery Europe wide, free over EUR 60.
